Lighting Direction – Before taking a picture, it’s important to take into account where the light source is because, it’s easy to think that you’re taking a great picture only to realize that your picture has a lot of shadows in it

Light Intensity – This term also refers to the lights strength during the time of day that you’re taking the picture. Remember that when you’re on vacation the light intensity will be much different what you’re used to at home so it will also help to look up the weather conditions before you go out for the day to insure that you will have the right light for your picture.

Camera Settings

Many cameras in this day and age have automatic settings that adjust for the light. Before you head out for the day to take pictures around the vacation destination that you’re staying at, make sure that you have the right settings adjusted for your camera to insure that you will be able to take great pictures that you will be happy with later on.

Supplies and Equipment

Every aspiring photographer who wants to hone their photography skills while on vacation should make sure that they have a good sized camera bag for carrying their cameras, photography equipment and laptop if necessary. A good sized camera bag will enable you to have the space for all of your camera supplies and insure that you won’t have to leave anything at home.
